The hot topic of the day was who would win in a fight between a lion and a bear. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)">Verno's</span> own dad and several listeners called in to say they thought a bear would kick the lion's booty.<br /><br />Well, the lion is not the king of the jungle for <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)">nothin</span>'! Felines are very intelligent, quick, have sharp claws, and are really dangerous when backed into a corner. Sure, bears are big. However, they're also slow and dumb. Last week, he said something idiotic on the <a href="http://thebiglead.com/?p=1384">Dan Patrick Show</a>. Irvin basically joked that <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=6624">Tony <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)">Romo</span></span></a> has athletic ability because somewhere in his family history one of his great grandmothers had sexual relations with a black slave.<br /><br />How much does it take for ESPN to fire this guy? I recall the big, fat, and opinionated Rush Limbaugh was fired from the same network for saying something dumb about <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4650">Donovan <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)">McNabb</span></span></a> being liked by the media because they wanted to see a black QB <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">succeed</span>. As I remember, Irvin was <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">adamant</span> about what a terrible thing Limbaugh said was. What a hypocrite!<br /><br />Irvin tried to apologize. He explained that he tries to give things from a locker room perspective and went too far. His point was that that's how guys joke in the locker room. Does that make it right? I don't think so! It doesn't matter if you're on national TV or you're behind closed doors.
