Micheal Irvin - why is he still employed?

Do you remember last year when Micheal Irvin was caught with a crack pipe in his truck and claimed it belonged to a friend? ESPN suspended him for a week if I remember correctly. Last week, he said something idiotic on the Dan Patrick Show. Irvin basically joked that Tony Romo has athletic ability because somewhere in his family history one of his great grandmothers had sexual relations with a black slave.

How much does it take for ESPN to fire this guy? I recall the big, fat, and opinionated Rush Limbaugh was fired from the same network for saying something dumb about Donovan McNabb being liked by the media because they wanted to see a black QB succeed. As I remember, Irvin was adamant about what a terrible thing Limbaugh said was. What a hypocrite!

Irvin tried to apologize. He explained that he tries to give things from a locker room perspective and went too far. His point was that that's how guys joke in the locker room. Does that make it right? I don't think so! It doesn't matter if you're on national TV or you're behind closed doors. A stupid, racist joke, whether it's in the locker room or in everyday discussion, is a stupid racist joke.

Micheal Irvin should quit the crack pipe for good!
